Prada opens new store in Paris

Prada, the luxury Milan based fashion house, has announced plans to open a two-leveled, 570 square meter pop-up or temporary store in Paris - that centre of fashion and the lovely capital of France. The new fancy boutique will be situated on the Place Beauvau and is anticipated to be open for only five months.
The design of the store by architect Roberto Baciocchi combines all things French and Italian and draws inspiration from that famous French poet Apollinaire. The shops front exterior brings to mind images of the Mirabeau Bridge which was immortalized in Apollinaire’s poem “La Pont Mirabeau.”

The interior of this impressive store is dominated by the staircase with mannequins strategically placed to recreate a typical Parisian summertime street scene. The floors of the Prada shop in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Milan are dutifully replicated in the new Paris store, and there is a generous splattering of lilac in carpeting’s and sofas, as well as bronze-colored glass and metal displays.

The upstairs changing rooms are also cleverly covered by hanging, beige silk tents, giving an overall feeling of awe when clothes are being tried on for size. The Paris store will be stocking all the latest and greatest Prada fashions including ladies clothing, accessories, handbags and shoes.

Prada fall/winter season of 2010

The fashion show, the new collection, the advertising campaign, all of Prada looks of autumn winter 2009 2010 are on display. The mood could not be clearer: the feeling that comes when we see the enigmatic phenomena of Prada new collection, sometimes disturbing, dark, but at the same time fascinating, revealing a single, strong image, all the mysterious force of nature.

No star from the cover, but virtually unknown faces for the campaign as Julia Hafstrom, Ymre Stiekem, Kendra Spears, Katlin Aas and Anna Rijk are the new interpretations for autumn winter 2009 2010 by Prada. The models would not grant you a smile. There is no more time to have the hair styled, leaving it crespi and swollen, like cotton. And it could not be otherwise as they are in the atmosphere of dark cold waters wearing leather, fur and heavy wool and especially those huge fishing boots seen on the catwalk.

And the lookbook itself, as the campaign deals with the fall/winter 2010 nature of Prada new clothing collection on stage. The nature that is more artistic, decorative and less dramatic, with collages and photo montages, which somewhat dissolved grim of realism of Meisel, sending by all means the same message.
